Artist's
Biography
Camille Regli, one of the Ferndale Arts Gallery founding members, was
born in North Dakota and grew up in Northern Idaho. She attended
Humboldt State and San Francisco State Universities, majoring in Medical
Technology. In 1960 she married and moved to a dairy near Ferndale, where
she still resides.
Camille had no art education until after her five children were all
in school and she took a painting class through College of the Redwoods.
Her eyes were opened to a new way of seeing the world around her. She
took art classes for many years until she gained the confidence to just
paint on her own. She has taken several painting workshops, including
one in Italy. She has also painted in Colorado, Ireland and Japan.
Painting while on vacation lets her slow down and enjoy being there.
Painting at home makes her appreciate the privilege of living in Humboldt
County.
The enchanting beauty of the local area, and the hard working lifestyle
on small family dairies are Camille's inspiration.
She has won many awards at local art exhibits, including Best of Show,
Redwood Art Association, and Best of Show, Humboldt County Fair
Juried Show.
